ABOUT THE SERIES

The Legend of Zelda is a beloved high fantasy action-adventure video game series that is well-known for its unique and in-depth gaming experience. The player closely follows the chosen hero, Link, through an intricate and mystical adventure in an enchanting world to rescue the Princess Zelda and eliminate the evil threat of the Demon King, Ganon,  thus restoring peace to the world of Hyrule.

The original game, The Legend of Zelda, was created by game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and developed and published by Nintendo in 1986. Since its initial release, Nintendo has issued a total of 19 official games of The Legend of Zelda saga, and has sold 108.91 million units worldwide, making it one of the best selling franchises of all time.

The gameplay offers a charming and captivating experience, thanks to the inclusion of endearing quests, elaborate puzzles, arcane items, and loveable characters. Moreover, the plot contains elements of religion and spirituality, such as themes, symbolism and imagery of Christianity. Studies suggest that such inclusions have been proven to provoke a positive gaming experience and a deeper connection with the quest, narrative, and world that the video game is portraying.
